The St Kew Pottery occupies a large open plan studio in beautiful surroundings, in an award-winning, purpose built, green oak barn.

Potter, Jon Whitten, who has a degree in the History of Art from UEA, studied with Bernard Leach’s son, Michael, and Roger Cockram.

Jon makes a wide variety of ceramics specialising in large, stoneware, wheel thrown pots, jugs, bowls and vases. He is a founder member and recent chairman of the Cornwall Ceramics and Glass Group.

His work has been exhibited widely and can be found in collections in Europe, Japan, New Zealand and the USA. The studio gallery displays a large collection of Jon’s work, which is available for sale and to order.

Guests staying in the cottages may book a lesson by arrangement with Jon.
